Can we talk about this photo for a second? I found it while I was browsing on Buzzfeed, and it really stuck out to me. She has visible stretch marks. She is an Olympic athlete (Lauren Ludwing of Germany), a seriously kick-ass human being, and she has stretch marks just like the rest of us. And she isn’t covering them up with makeup, or wearing a bigger bikini bottom. Because stretch marks are nothing to be ashamed of. She has an absolutely killer body, that she worked hard to earn. This just proves that stretch marks are so unbelievably common, and absolutely not something to be ashamed of.

This is Nikole and I. We are in an old pair of PJ pants featuring Sponge Bob. These particular pajamas were my favourite when I weighed 350 pounds. They were tight. In fact, at one point, I had to retire them because they were too uncomfortable to sport during my slumber.

Today, I can fit one of me and one of her in each leg with a lot of room to spare.

A year and a half ago— I never would have believed this was possible. I never thought I’d have lost 150 pounds. I never thought I’d have gained confidence. I never thought I’d be happy. I never thought I’d be proud of anything I had done.

And, now, I’m proud of everything I’ve done and I know that at the end of my weight loss journey I’ll be able to say the same.

Sometimes, I just have to bring this back onto my blog because I’m feeling discouraged. It is always grand to have a reminder of how far you’ve come and of how far you can go.

Shirt, armbands and dark blue under skirt all made from jersey knit. The butt flap thingy is made from suede and dog fur sold by the yard. The wig is an 18 in. EpicCosplay in dark brown styled into a ponytail.

I gave myself more natural looking lips. I’ll be referencing this color when I go buy new lipstick/lip tint on thurs. And I added a third picture. <3 Thanks so much everyone for helping me out!
